Thanh Khe
Ordinary city, quiet bay beach
The working half of the city, north-west of the centre. Da Nang's railway station sits on Hải Phòng street here, the airport is ten to fifteen minutes away, and Thanh Khê has its own beach on the bay side — long, and far emptier than My Khe.
Da Nang abolished its district tier on 1 July 2025, so this name is now an area people use rather than an administrative one. Your lease and your residence registration will name the new ward instead — worth checking the paperwork matches the address.
Who it suits
People who want to live in the city rather than in the part of it built for visitors, and who would rather be ten minutes from everything than on top of one thing.
The feel
Ordinary and busy in the daytime, built around the station and the airport rather than around visitors. Almost nothing here is arranged for foreigners, which is both the drawback and the point.
Prices & value
Roughly half beach-quarter money. On our board a one-bedroom sits around 6 million ₫ and a two-bedroom around 9.5 — a level the coast has not seen in years.
Getting around
The best-connected part of the city for leaving it: ten to fifteen minutes from the airport, five to seven from the river and the centre, with the railway station in the middle of the district.

It has its own, on the bay side of the peninsula — long and much emptier than My Khe. It is a different beach in character: for a swim before work rather than for a day out.
The airport is close enough that you will hear aircraft in parts of the district. How much depends on the street, so listen before you sign.
